Somehow seems an unlikely place for a cathedral. Former parish church, enlarged when diocese of Blackburn split off from Manchester (1926). Central space with High Altar under glazed lantern which was completed in 1961. Unfortunately the glue fixing the glass didn’t last and it all fell in! Now restored.
